Employee Outreach

We at TVA believe that success brings the responsibility - and privilege - of helping the less fortunate. That's why many of our employees contribute to the City of Hope through a payroll pledge plan that deducts a weekly donation from their paychecks.

The City of Hope (www.cityofhope.com) is a world-renowned biomedical research and treatment facility dedicated to prevention, treatment, and cures for cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases. Its work is important because:

• More than one million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
• Seventeen million Americans have diabetes, and more than 800,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.
• More than 20 million people have died from AIDS since the onset of the epidemic.

City of Hope ranks among the nation's top health-related charities for financial responsibility, directing 85 cents of every dollar raised to lifesaving research and treatment programs. National consumer and industry watchdog groups also annually rank it among the top philanthropic organizations.

Corporate Giving

As a company, TVA strives to help the less fortunate in the communities in which we operate. We do this by supporting charities that make a real and lasting difference in the lives of the people that they serve.

This past year, we made significant corporate donations to The Burn Institute and Linens and Things Family Fund. The Burn Institute is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to reducing burn injuries and deaths through fire and burn prevention education. Linens and Things Family Fund provides clothing and household items to families in need.

It is our pleasure to share some of our good fortune with those who are trying to make a new start in life or are recovering from serious illnesses.
